On January 7th, 2013 the Eastern Townships Learning Centre will be hosting a morning workshop 9-12 in the Alexander Galt Auditorium. Dr. Martin Brokenleg will speak on the Circle of Courage® life model. The ETLC invites, “Educators, anyone working with children or youth, parents, students, anyone working with or employing teenagers,” to attend.
Dr. Martin Brokenleg is a renowned Lakota Sioux youth-care expert and is co-author of “Reclaiming Youth at Risk: Our Hope for the Future”. His background in this area includes a doctorate in psychology, 30 years as Professor of Native American Studies at Augustana College of Sioux Falls, and consulting and leading training programs throughout North America, New Zealand and South Africa.
What is the Circle of Courage®?
The Circle of Courage® is a First Nations concept that centers on four principal values on child rearing – belonging, independence, mastery and generosity.
